11pm – night dam fishing, Kimmie caught two Crappies. An 8 in. and a 6.5 in.
1:30am – Kimmie cleans, guts, and scales her first fish.

5am – 7am: backyard river shore fishing
We caught nothing.

11pm – 1am: night dam fishing
Gary caught a 7.5in. Crappie.
Kimmie caught 2 Crappies. A 6.5in. and a 6.75in.
Eric caught a 6.25in. Crappie.

Dam Fishing – Lessons Learned
At night, go at peak moon phase fishing times give or take a half an hour.
Establish a home base with central lantern.
Hot dog bait works.
Have the different rigs ready to go before hand. Do all the necessary pre-work.
Always have mosquito repellant.
Backyard River Shore Fishing – Lessons Learned
Sunrise and sunset matter. You don’t need to get up at 5am if sunrise is at 7:15am. Check sunrise and sunset the night before.
Have a headlight or head LED.
Backyard River Boat Fishing – Lessons Learned
The boat is too heavy for just one person to take it from the house to the river.
It’s very heavy and the handles hurt your hands with two people carrying the front and the transom mounted with wheels.
